Anemometers are important tools for meteorologists, who study weather patterns. Wind speed can indicate approaching storms and this information can be important to climatologist and engineers. Anemometers are also used in mines, tunnels and aircraft testing.

Wind direction and speed has significant influence on crop growth. Wind increases the turbulence in the atmosphere thus increasing the supply of CO2 to the plants resulting in greater photosynthesis rates. Beyond a certain wind speed rate of photosynthesis becomes constant. Ethylene production and nitrogen concentration both increases with increase in wind speed.

Product Description

IAS01 rotates at the same speed as wind to give direct measure of wind direction. The wind pushes the cups, and the amount of rotations in a given time interval determines the wind’s speed and counts the revolutions made by windmill-style blades.

IAS01 is able to withstand strong gust but still very sensitive to light breeze. Rugged components and sealed bearing gives it long life.

IAS01 is compatible with our data loggers IDL-M and IDL-A.it can be used with any third party data logger having digital input option.
